Blood Pressure Screening

TheĀ Scott County Health Department provides daily blood pressure monitoring. No appointment necessary. Simply visit our office during regular business hours to have your blood pressure checked.

We offer a Self-Monitoring Blood Pressure Program (SMBP) at no cost. SMBP allows you to use a personal blood pressure monitoring machine to check your blood pressure at home. You can receive a free blood pressure monitoring device while you are in the program. This program provides education and discussions on how to maintain a normal blood pressure. If you are interested in enrolling in the program, call (573)471-4044.

High blood pressure is one of the major risk factors for heart disease. High blood pressure is also the number one risk factor for stroke. One in three adults have high blood pressure, but many do not even know it. Maintaining a normal blood pressure level can reduce your risk of having a heart attack or stroke, and is very important to your health.
